Beverly Elliott Kohout, age 83, passed away on December 1, 2021 at Rocky Mountain Care The Lodge in Heber City, Utah. She was born on January 18, 1938 in Merced, California, the daughter of Frank Lee and Louise Ossie (Smith) Shaw.
Beverly married Michael Dean Kohout on August 24, 1986 in Wenatchee, Washington.
When Beverly and her husband Michael moved to Kemmerer, they became members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and actively participated in the congregation there.
Beverly was a member of the Wenatchee Valley Art Guild for many years.
She loved the fellowship of the church and loved to sing in the church choir.
She was a very good seamstress and made her own clothes in high school and did a lot of sewing throughout her life.
In her earlier years she enjoyed horses, camping, hunting, and even loved a good game of golf.
Mom was very passionate about art and had a creative eye, always decorating her home for each holiday and season.
She also loved dogs and would even take in strays. It’s hard to remember a time when she didn’t have a pet dog for her best friend.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Kohout, of Kemmerer, WY; children, Parker (Wendy) Torrence, of Midland, TX.; a daughter, Tina R. Torrence (Danny) Gilstrap, of Wenatchee, WA.; grandchildren, Michael L. Torrence, Eysis Torrence, Ashley K. Bloss, Christiane M. Brown, Virginia L. Hale, Bradley S. Hale, Jonathan Wolfe, Kent Kirkwood.
She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Kali, Samantha, Prince, and Dave,Lidia, Savannah, Dixie, & Gwendolyn, Riley, Tyler, Colton, Cassie, & Nicholas, Jaylin, Liberty, Ellayna, Samantha and Nevan.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Frank Shaw, a brother, Randy Shaw, and her sister, Judy Berdan, and a great grandson, Daniel Tveidt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 6-8PM at Ball Family Chapel in Kemmerer, WY. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 10AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kemmerer, WY with Pastor Jonathan Lange officiating. Interment will be held at the South Lincoln Cemetery in Kemmerer, WY.
Ball Family Chapel of Kemmerer has been entrusted to arrangements.
