Frances Drew King, age 85, died at South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer, WY on December 30, 2022.
Drew as she was fondly known, was born on October 2, 1937 in Evanston, WY the daughter of Paul Harris and Frances Mary (Jacobson) Hanney. She married Robert D. King on July 17, 1955 in Randolph, Utah.
Drew loved visiting with her family and numerous friends. The door to her home was always open and a fresh pot of coffee was offered to all who came to socialize. She was a great cook and introduced her family and friends to a variety of foods and dishes. Drew loved books and enjoyed reading. Many a day she would lie on her couch or sit in her chair reading, sometimes as many as three books at once. Drew enjoyed riding around the town of Kemmerer, Frontier, and Diamondville visiting with her friends and family, looking at the scenery and wildlife.
She is survived by her children, a daughter, Holly (Tim) Stevenson, of Rock Springs, WY; a son, John (Kristen) King, of Kemmerer, WY; a daughter, Mary Tholhurst, of Kemmerer, WY; a son, David (Tammie) of Kemmerer, WY; and a son, Kasey (Jen) King of Kemmerer, WY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul “Dee” Hanney, of Diamondville, WY; and Randy (Debbie) Hanney, of Diamondville, WY; and a sister, Joyce McCloud of Diamondville, WY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. King, her parents, Paul and Frances Hanney, brothers, Henry and Dennis Hanney, a great grandson, Evan Frost, and a brother in law, Jim McCloud.
Drew will be sadly missed by many people who surrounded her throughout her life.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life and graveside services will be held on May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Diamondville Cemetery, Diamondville, WY.
