Harry Hill, 81, was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado April 11th, 1943, and passed away November 10th, 2024, in Kemmerer Wyoming.
Harry joined the Navy just out of high school and during his service, his fleet was part of the naval blockade during the Cuban missile crisis. After being discharged from the Navy, he hitchhiked from San Diego to Denver where he would work in construction as a crane operator. As a crane operator, he helped put the original Bronco in place at Mile High Stadium. He also helped with the construction of many of the skyscrapers in downtown Denver. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with Julia.
Although Harry loved being a crane operator, he moved to Green River to work in the trona mines at FMC for better job stability. It was not long before he would move to the Bridger Valley, a place he was very happy to call home.
Harry lived a full life and loved the outdoors and fishing. His passions were photography, working on his computer and spending time with his wife of 57 years Julia Ann.
Harry always had a passion for technology. When computers were first commercially available, he would spend hours (using a Radio Shack TRS-80) creating various types of programs manually by hand and would be so proud once he had them working.
Inspired by the CB/trucker phenomenon in the 70’s, he used to love talking on his ham radio and enjoyed communicating with people from all over the world.
Harry is survived by his wife Julia Ann, son Benjamin, daughters Donna and Jennifer, grandson Andrew and sister Virginia.
Services will be in April at Ft. Bridger Cemetery. The family askes in lieu of flowers that you please opt to have a tree planted.
