On August 19, 2024, Jerry, surrounded by his family, was gathered into a loving Fathers arms once more.
Jerry was born April 27, 1942, to his parents, Dorothy Eleanor Newcomb and fordham Alexander Dummer in Ogden, Utah.
He was raised there, graduating from Odgen High School and attended Weber State.
He married Connie Connie Sellers Brown. They lived in Cheyenne, Oregon, and Utah before settling in Kemmerer. He was a master mechanic working in a couple shops before settling at E&L Motors in Kemmerer, retiring after thirty years from there, and enjoyed lasting friendships with his employers Louie, Vince and Tony, and his coworkers with whom he has high regard.
Jerry was second of three children, a sister, Carol Helms (Bill) a brother, Ken (Sandra) who both preceded him in death.
Jerry is survived by his spouse, Connie Dummer and their children, Lynn (Shar), April, a daughter in law, Jamie, Zach (Carly), Dillon (Sierra), and his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who he dearly loves. He is preceded in death also by his son, Eric.
Jerry was a huge part in raising Connie’s younger siblings, Casey, Allen and Troy. Dennis and Jay were older, but looked up to Jerry and they all had special relationships. All their children are very close to Uncle Jer and will miss him greatly. His many nieces and nephews were so loved by him, they remember Uncle with many loving memories.
Jerry’s passing has left a huge hole in his families hearts, but we are comforted by our family’s “belief” that he has joined our other guys up there sitting around that huge campfire telling tall tales! That brings us comfort and tender smiles; also the fact that he can breathe!
Jerry didn’t want any servcies, but for his ashes to be scattered in specific special locations in the mountains, where we spent so many happy times.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel of Kemmerer.
