Leo Millard Huffman

Leo Millard Huffman, age 72, passed away on December 30th, 2013, at his home ending his 16 month battle with cancer.
He was born on October 13th, 1941 in Greenbriar, Arkansas, the son of William Theodore and Ethel Andrews Huffman. He married Frances Mattox on June 21, 1959 in Omaha, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2008.
Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and all things outdoors. He liked watching old movies, and was an avid history buff. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing cards. He and his wife, Fran, loved spending time together gambling. Leo formed special friendships with Scott and Nancy Ellis and family, Pam and Rex Clayson, Chuck and Shelly Smith, and Darrel and Janie Alder.
Leo was a retired coal miner. He worked at FMC Skull Point Mine as a tipple operator until his retirement in 1997.
He is survived by his children, Michael Ross (Cheryl) Huffman of Omaha, AR. Laure Diane Huffman Heitzman (Steve) of Lewiston, ID. Harold Garfield (Susie) of Omaha, AR. Tracy Lea Heitzman, and fiance, Alan Long, of Lewiston, ID. and Jeannie Mae (Matthew) Wood, of Page, AZ. He is also survived by one Frank Dale (Sandy) Atchison. He is survived by his grandchildren: Dianna Pappy, Steven, Jared, Samuel Heitzman, Aaron, Isaac, Jacob, Daniel Huffman, Levi, Madison, Reagan Heitzman, and Lindsay, Kylie, and Chad Wood. He is also survived by one great grandchild, Adalynn Heitzman-Church. Leo is also survived by a brother, Jerry Huffman, of Brookline, MO, and two sisters, JoeEtta Atchison, of Omaha AR and Martha Faye (Roy) Williams of Omaha, AR.
Leo was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a brother, Johnny Huffman.
Memorial services were conducted on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer, WY.  Inurnment will be held in Arkansas at a later date.
