Lora “Zane” Breese passed away in her sleep the morning of March 6th, 2025.
Zane was born July 29th, 1963 in Phoenix, Arizona to Casper and Mary Ann Berry. Zane loved, lived and made people laugh. She took care of others before herself. She worked alongside her siblings at her father’s restaurant(s). Her first job was washing dishes at the Royal Inn in Dillon Montana at the age of eight. She wasn’t tall enough to reach the counter so she would stand on a large soup pot.
Her third grade dream job was to be a movie star in Hollywood and jump out of a cake in her swimsuit. She loved going to the local roller rink to skate with her older sister. She collected clothes, lots of them. One day her mom did her laundry and counted 29 pairs of blue jeans. Good thing she was a waitress and could buy clothes with her tips.
As she grew older, she found a passion for hairstyling, practicing on her own hair, her kids, usually with much success. She graduated from Sky View High in 1981, the year better known as the Marble Year. All 600+ students were given a marble to pass to the administration as they walked through the graduation procession. Just one example of the many pranks she participated in or pulled on others. Zane then attended Beau La Rein College of Cosmetology and enjoyed a long career making people look beautiful. Further in her career she created a shop in her home named Zane’s Place, she talked about this for years and got that dream accomplished. She also dabbled in doing people’s nails towards the end before her retirement in 2019.
She married Michael Breese February 6, 1983 in Kemmerer, WY. They were married for 42 years. They were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters, Cassidie, Camille and Cennedy. She loved the fact they all started with a “C”, even though it got hard to call their name when they were in trouble. As a family they enjoyed camping in Bear Lake and Hams Fork, but mainly at Lake Viva Naughton so she can fish. They were looking forward to making memories at the cabin they just purchased. She was so excited about staying there through the summers and during the winter even to watch the snow fall. She loved snowmobiling, and hunting in her younger years (Zane is the best shot and usually the one to bag the game of the season) She loved her grandchildren more than anything, Brody and Bryher.
Zane loved to call early in the morning on your birthday and sing to you. She was on the dot at 6 AM with no fail, her kids looked forward to that call even if they were asleep. She was usually the first one to extend birthday wishes.
Zane suffered from Meniere’s disease which affects the inner ear. She became the best weatherman and could predict a storm 2 days in advance, and at times an earthquake nearby. Unfortunately for her, this left her dizzy all the time, worse before the storm.
Zane is preceded in death by her father Marion Casper Berry, her mother in law Bette Breese, and father in law Howard Breese.
Zane is survived by her husband Michael Breese, her 3 children Cassidie, Camille (Dallas), and Cennedy (Dalton). Her mother Mary Ann Berry. Her grandchildren Brody and Bryher. Her sisters Christy, Ann (Greg) and Nicole. Her brothers Ted, and Scott. Her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She will be missed by her siblings, Ted, Scott, Christy, Ann, and Nicole; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
