Rachel (Mickey) Fagnant, passed away on October 8, 2020 at the age of 91. She passed away at South Lincoln Nursing Center in Kemmerer, WY.
Mickey as she was fondly known, was born on June 7, 1929 in Diamondville, Wyoming, the daughter of Rachel (Armstrong) and George Kirkwood. Mickey was married to George Fagnant on February 14, 1948 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
Mickey lived her entire life in Kemmerer, Wyoming. She was an avid bowler, loved to go camping, hiking, cross country skiing, attend family picnics, socializing (daily coffee) with everyone in town, and always wanting to drive up Hams Fork to watch the migration of the Sandhill Cranes, and enjoy the deer and elk. She was also a member of the Wyoming Historical Society.
Mickey is survived by her eight children, Ann Kindler (Tom), Janet Vetos (Doug), Joe (Diane) Fagnant, Mary Failoni (Richard), Dorothy Painter (Bill), Susan Elliott-Hieb (Randy), Tony Fagnant (Mary), Matt Fagnant (Susan), twenty four grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.
Mickey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Fagnant, her brothers, George Kirkwood, and Art Kirkwood, and William Kirkwood. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Carol Ness, and a grandson, Brian Carotta.
Mickey will be greatly missed. She was genuinely kind to all and was a loving Mother, and an incredible grandmother, and a great friend to many.
Memorial Services for Mickey will be conducted on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at the South Lincoln Training and Event Center. She will be laid to rest next to her husband George at the South Lincoln Cemetery. At her request, cremation will take place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer, WY.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kemmerer Senior Citizens Center.
