Rob Scott Kolata, beloved, dad, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away on January 20th, 2025 in Kemmerer Wyoming. He was born in Kemmerer Wyoming to Paul (Buddy) and Marlene Kolata.
Rob grew up in Frontier Wyoming. His siblings recall that there was never a dull moment with Rob. From dragging inner tubes up to his favorite sledding hill for a quick ride down to hanging out at the swimming hole, Rob made sure it was a fun adventure without another care in the world. There was always a guarantee that Rob would make you laugh no matter what. Rob graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1979. He had a few different jobs in his younger adult years. He finally followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a coal miner. Rob was a very hard worker. He worked at the Kemmerer mine for 38 years, until retiring in 2023.
Rob became a dad in 1987 to his son Jeffrey Kolata followed by his daughter Hanah Kolata in 2006. Rob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Rob was always active, doing things like camping, riding his motorcycle, listening to music, cooking, and doing yard work. He also enjoyed doing wood and metal work in his garage during his retired years.
Rob is survived by his mom, Marlene Kolata; his children Jeffrey Kolata, and Hanah Kolata; and his siblings Steven Kolata, Lisa Willard, and Kristina Kolata. His memory and love will live on through them and all his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rob is preceded in death by his grandparents, his dad Paul (Buddy) Kolata, and his brother Michael Kolata.
Services for Rob will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 1:00 pm at Living Water Community Church located at 619 Pearl Street in Kemmerer, Wyoming. A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. Details will be provided at a later date.
