With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teddy L. Wright on March 25, 2025. Teddy was our cherished and beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love him.
Teddy was born on May 5, 1933, in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Virginia and Cyril G. “Bud” Wright and was their second son. Teddy grew up in Kemmerer, graduated from Kemmerer High School and then went to the University of Wyoming for one year before being drafted into the U.S. Army. Before he left to serve his country, he married the love of his life, Gerry Gagliardi Wright to whom he was happily married for nearly 71 years. He provided for his family extremely well and worked for El Paso Natural Gas and Northwest Energy and later with P&M Coal Company before his retirement in 1995. Teddy loved living in Opal, Wyoming and all the great times spent with his friends and his family who lived there during his tenure with El Paso Natural Gas. Teddy loved his retirement during which he played golf with many friends and followed Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball, as well as the Utah Jazz and Gonzaga University basketball. He also enjoyed his work with fossils and beautifully completed several fossil fish and made sure that each of the family members had one of his framed fish which will be forever cherished.
Teddy was a true gentleman and was so kind to everyone he encountered. His sense of humor was loved by many, always leaving you with a joke or two to make you smile whenever you spent time with him. His family and friends know that when he arrived in heaven, he was fist bumping and hugging family and friends and letting all know that he is just “super-duper.”
Teddy leaves behind the love of his life, Gerry, and his two children – Terri Jensen (Doug) and Bobby Wright (Leigh), grandchildren Christopher Rasmussen (Nicki), Alexandria Wright, Amelia Scholl (Jason), and his great granddaughters Autumn and Hannah Rasmussen. He is also survived by his nieces Judy Gray (Greg), Debbie Keenan (Jim), his nephew Robert Gagliardi (April) and his brother-in-law Bob Gagliardi along with several more nieces and nephews. Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Bud Wright, his brother, Bill Wright and his first child, Geraldine Lynne Wright. Cremation and other arrangements are being handled by Ball Family Chapel in Kemmerer. Graveside services will be held on July 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the South Lincoln Cemetery.
